About

Whilst my interest in photography stems from childhood, it was not until 1984 that it became my chief interest. It was then that I joined Northallerton Camera Club and I am still a member. I am an associate of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), and hold the Masters Award of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB).

A listed Lecturer and Judge for the Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF), I have served on the NCPF Executive for many years, and now also on the PAGB Executive as their FIAP Liaison Officer. PAGB have granted me their Associate Award for services to photography.

I am a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and, of Circle 36 of the United Postal Postfolios (UPP). I enjoy entering International Exhibitions, and to date I have achieved over 1,500 acceptances and 100 awards. This success has been recognised by PSA granting me their Excellence Award, the EPSA, and by the Federation De l'Art Photographique (FIAP), with their EFIAP Gold award.

It is my good fortune to have a wife, Sheila, who is fully supportive of my work. Having been awarded the Licentiate Distinction by the RPS, and the PAGB Distinction Award, she is no mean photographer herself. She is also a successful International Exhibitor, gaining the EFIAP Award from FIAP as well Star Awards from PSA.

We both use Pentax cameras and I have both film and digital cameras. My main camera is the K20D for digital, although I still have a Z1P and Fuji Velvia for occasional slide work.. Sheila has gone completely digital with her K10D. For our Prints we use Fotospeed Papers and also their ink flow system.
